Future Salus Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) resident, Patrick O’Connor McManamon OD ’17, was recently awarded the 2017 Johnson & Johnson Vision Award of Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care. In addition to receiving a $500 educational award, he also was given a commemorative plaque for his exceptional contact lens knowledge and impactful patient care delivery.
Dr. O’Connor McManamon’s passion for working with contact lenses stemmed from his experiences during fourth year rotations at Salus PCO and working alongside faculty who handle specialty cases.
“Drs. Joel Silbert, Kriti Bhagat and Rachel Britchkow are gifted educators who treat complex patients,” he said. “The opportunities working with them clinically really allowed me to gain experience and a deeper interest in contact lenses.”
In a few weeks, Dr. O’Connor McManamon will continue to deepen his contact lens knowledge and clinical experiences as he begins his residency in Cornea and Contact Lens at The Eye Institute, PCO’s clinical training facility.
“I’m really excited to get started and to continue learning from and working alongside PCO’s exceptional faculty,” he said.
