Jennifer Cmar is a 2011 recipient of the National Leadership Consortium in Sensory Disabilities Fellowship. She is entering doctoral studies through the Joint Doctoral Program in Special Education between California State University, Los Angeles and the University of California, Los Angeles. She is pursuing a PhD in Special Education, focusing on blindness and visual impairment.
In 2005, Jennifer received a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Disabilities from Florida State University. She also obtained a Master of Science degree in Visual Disabilities with an emphasis on Orientation and Mobility from Florida State University in 2006. For the past 5 years, she has worked in Florida and California as an Adaptive Technology Instructor and ACVREP Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist.
Jennifer’s research interests include human development and visual impairment, transition from school to work for adolescents who are blind or visually impaired, adaptive technology and orientation and mobility training, and dog guides.
