Heather Herbster is a National Leadership Consortium in Sensory Disabilities fellow attending The Ohio State University as part of the PhD program, in the College of Education and Human Ecology, with an emphasis on Sensory Disabilities. Research interests include visual impairment and additional disabilities, including deafblindness, child find, evaluation and identification.
Ms. Herbster holds degrees from The Ohio State University in Speech and Hearing Science (BA), Columbus State Community College in Interpreting and American Sign Language Education (A.A.S.), Western Michigan University in Orientation & Mobility (MA), and University of Dayton in Educational Leadership (MEd). For the majority of her career, Ms. Herbster has been working with individuals with a wide range of disabilities, including six years with the Ohio Deaf-Blind Outreach Program.
Currently, Ms. Herbster works with professionals and families across the state in a variety of areas as the Project Coordinator with the Ohio Center for Deafblind Education. She is also a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist.
