Brooke Peterson is a National Leadership Consortium in Sensory Disabilities fellow attending the University of Minnesota as a PhD candidate. At the University of Minnesota, she will focus on Deaf/Hard of Hearing within the Department of Educational Psychology. Her research interests include reading with hard of hearing students and student access to the mainstream classroom when they have a hearing loss.
Brooke Peterson holds a Master of Education from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. She holds licenses in Deaf/Hard of Hearing, Elementary Education, and Reading. She has worked with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students from birth through the age of 21. She has taught as an itinerant teacher and had a center-based classroom. Brooke Peterson is currently working as a reading specialist and program facilitator for Deaf/Hard of Hearing services.
