Deaf Education Faculty OPENING

The Department of Communication Disorders at the University of Tulsa seeks applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Applied Instructor/Applied Assistant Professor of Deaf Education commencing August 15, 2013.

QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate degree (PhD, EdD, or Masters) in Deaf Education or related field and CED certification.  Major responsibilities include teaching American Sign Language and Deaf Education methods courses, supervision of field-based practica, and student advising and recruitment.  Applicants should have knowledge and skills in the following areas: (1) methods of teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing, (2) teaching American Sign Language, (3) bilingual education (ASL and English), and (4) working with children with cochlear implants. Three years classroom teaching experience with deaf/hard of hearing students required;  experience teaching American Sign Language at the university level preferred.
