On December 3, 2010, NOSA held a constitution and bylaws meeting, in which the constitution was reviewed and changes and revisions were made based on votes by NOSA members.
On Saturday, December 4, 2010, NOSA members participated in The Science Discovery Day/ Optometrists of Tomorrow event at Sheppard Elementary School with local third and fourth graders. The elementary school students had the opportunity to dissect cow eyes, learn about the parts of the eyes and some of its diseases, as well as the profession of optometry.
The annual NOSA PCO Eyedol fundraiser was held in the Hafter Student Center.

NOSA Clothing Drive A Success
The PCO chapter of NOSA (National Optometric Student Association) concluded a successful week long clothing drive in support of Covenant House in the Germantown section of Philadelphia.
Covenant House is the largest privately-funded agency in America to provide food, shelter, immediate crisis care, and an array of other important services to homeless, throwaway, and runaway youth.
Four large boxes of clothes and shoes - more than 150 articles of gently used clothing - were donated by Salus University students and faculty and delivered to Covenant House by NOSA president, Erica Turner, ’13 and vice president, Keion Mark, ’13.
First General Body Meeting
NOSA held its first general body meeting of the school year on September 17, 2010. General body meetings are an opportunity for prospective NOSA members to meet the members of the executive board, and to learn more about the organization, as well as the numerous activities and events NOSA has planned for the academic year.
Vision Screening
NOSA members, along with preceptor Dr. Patel, participated in a vision screening for a Health Expo held at Triumph Baptist Church on September 18, 2010, with Dr. Patel as the preceptor. This official “Health, Wealth, and Wellness Week” pre-kick off
event allowed the community to participate in fun games, enjoy music and food, and gain awareness and knowledge in health-related information.
