The Bennett Career Services Center’s Professional Development is your gateway to opportunities that build essential skills for successful careers in health and rehabilitation fields. Through our programs, we aim to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences needed to excel in today’s collaborative healthcare environment.
Interprofessional Education for Collaborative Practice
Healthcare today is increasingly team-based, with professionals from diverse fields working together to provide comprehensive patient care. At Salus at Drexel University, we prepare students to thrive in this environment by emphasizing Interprofessional Education for Collaborative Practice (IPECP). Through these initiatives, students engage in learning experiences that foster:
- Teamwork and Communication
- Learn to communicate effectively across disciplines to improve patient outcomes.
- Role Understanding
- Gain insights into the contributions of various health professionals to optimize patient care.
- Patient-Centered Care
- Develop a collaborative approach to care that meets the unique needs of each patient.
IPCPe Microcredential Badge Program
The Interprofessional Collaborative Practice, entry level (IPCPe) Microcredential Badge Program offers students an additional opportunity to expand their professional skills. This program provides a series of learning experiences that cover the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC)’s Core Competencies for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice (IPEC Competencies), earning students an official microcredential badge upon completion. The IPCPe badge demonstrates a commitment to:
- Interprofessional Collaboration
- Showcase your ability to work effectively in diverse healthcare teams.
- Leadership in Healthcare
- Learn leadership skills to guide collaborative decision-making processes.
- Lifelong Learning
- Equip yourself with adaptable skills that will serve you throughout your career.
Through the IPCPe badge program, students not only enhance their education but also increase their marketability to potential employers who value collaborative skills in healthcare professionals.
