Dr. Fern Silverman and Andrea Tyszka, assistant professor, received the American Occupational Therapy Foundation Award for volunteerism in recognition of their contributions to the community last week at the annual conference and expo of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) was held last week in Chicago. Salus faculty and students who attended the conference were joined by Salus president, Dr. Michael H. Mittelman.
With almost 10,000 occupational therapists in attendance, this conference is the world’s largest gathering of occupational therapists and Salus University was ably represented. Faculty members, director of the new Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program, Dr. Fern Silverman, and OT instructor, Dr. Caitlyn Foy, presented posters that addressed interprofessional education and post-professional OTD degrees. OT program director, Dr. Lauren Sponseller, also presented.
