New Physician Assistant Faculty Member

Cara OrrNext week, Cara Orr, PA-C, will officially be joining Salus University’s Physician Assistant (PA) Studies Department as an assistant professor.

In her new role, Orr will serve as a principal faculty member in the PA program to ensure the educational environment demonstrates qualities needed to provide a superior medical education. “I am excited to bring my clinical skills to the classroom setting, where I can share my patient experience with future PAs,” Orr said.

In 2004, Orr received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Hood College in Frederick, Md. She then went on to receive her master’s degree in biotechnology from John Hopkins University and her Master of Medical Science from Arcadia University.

Upon completing her education, Orr began her career in family medicine. After eight years, she decided to become a part of PA education and help students learn to provide quality care in health and wellness to their patients.

Prior to joining Salus, Orr worked for the Temple University Physician Assistant Program where she realized just how much she can impact medicine through the education of her students.

“One of the things I enjoy most about my job as a PA is educating patients about and engaging them in their own health and wellness,” Orr said. “In my new role at Salus I look forward to helping guide students to become good listeners and communicators so they can engage their own patients in the same manner.”
