For many legacy students and their families, attending Salus felt inevitable. Although each student has a unique reason for choosing the University, they share a common pride in making a Salus education part of their family tradition.
Many legacy graduates like Emily Mittelman, MSOT ‘20, and Jonathan Fabriziani, OD ‘20, have longtime connections to the University. When the time came for them to choose a graduate school, Mittelman and Dr. Fabriziani were drawn to the storied and steadfast experiences of their preceding generations from the Salus community.
Being part of the University’s tradition as a legacy family member along with my father, Salus president Michael Mittelman, OD ‘80, MPH, MBA, FAAO, FACHE, means carrying on my family's legacy of providing exemplary healthcare to those in need and taking the skills gained at Salus to provide the most current, evidence-based and patient-centered care possible.
-Emily Mittelman
Being a legacy of the University’s Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) family along with my mother, Maria Parisi, OD '85, and father, Barry Fabriziani, OD '85, gives me a great sense of pride. Our University has a long history of producing great healthcare providers who care about their patients. The one thing that stands out to me is that the community does not stop on campus or at our clinics. We are a strong community with a support system throughout the world. You could say I have “grown up” in this community and I have experienced nothing but love and support. From the minute I walked onto campus, I was surprised at the overwhelming energy and kindness. I am proud to carry the torch as an active member of the University’s Alumni Association going forward!
