Salus University Welcomes Eileen Hunsaker as Director of Clinical Education at SLI

Eileen HunsakerEileen Hunsaker, MS, CCC-SLP, is the new director of Clinical Education at The Speech-Language Institute (SLI) at Salus University.

Hunsaker earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University and her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Utah. She has written numerous journal articles, and has participated in a variety of presentations.

As director, she will guide the day-to-day management of SLI including clinical operations, speech-language clinical education and patient care.

With more than 25 years of experience as a clinical speech-language pathologist and educational professional, her area of expertise is in the acute rehabilitation of adults post CVA (stroke) and Traumatic Brain Injury. 

Most recently, she was an assistant professor at the New York Medical College, Department of Speech and Language Pathology. She previously served as clinical assistant professor at Midwestern University, Glendale, Arizona, and assistant professor/Aphasia Center Coordinator at MGH Institute of Health Professions, Boston, Massachusetts.

She also specializes in Interprofessional Education (IPE) and the use of simulation in the education of healthcare professionals and looks forward to continuing her work in this area. 

“I am excited to meet and get to know the students, faculty and staff here at Salus,” she said. “I am committed to the education of future Speech and Language Pathologists and hope to make a positive impact on student’s clinical and academic experiences.”
