Both the classroom and field work at Salus — particularly during the pandemic — helped prepare students like Kristin Kaplewicz, MSOT ‘20, for the real world. Although there was some virtual training, the Salus Occupational Therapy (OT) department was aggressive in trying to keep its students in the field as much as possible. The SLP Gender Experience

Recently, Robert Serianni, MS, CCC-SLP, FNAP, the chair and program director of the Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) department at Salus, spearheaded a discussion about the gender imbalance among the SLP profession with Eric J. Smith, MA, CCC-SLP, a clinical educator at the Speech-Language Institute (SLI) of Salus, and alumni Kyle Lees, MS ‘18, and Max Seager, MS ‘19. Read more here.

The Fast Track

The Accelerated Scholars Program at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) at Salus is an opportunity for highly motivated and well-qualified applicants to earn a Doctor of Optometry degree designed specifically with them in mind. This program provides students the opportunity to complete all of the same traditional program optometry degree requirements in an accredited 36-month, year-round, campus-based program. Dancing for Mental Health

David X. Marquez, PhD, an expert in health disparities within the Latino community recently spoke to the Salus community during a recent DEI Speaks! event about the genesis of a passion project that started with his own personal connection to Alzheimer’s disease. Read more here.
