MLK Day 2023

Monday, January 16, 2022 is the observance of the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In his book, Strength to Love, Dr. King poses the following: "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'" and use your voice for others. I would like to think we answer this question daily in the mission and work we do at Salus, so this may not be new. But a renewed mind that serves with intentionality can shift how we feel about and connect to the work we do...posturing us to have a servant's heart.

DEI LogoThis year, The King Center's theme is: It starts with me: Cultivating a Beloved Community Mindset to Transform Unjust Systems. Given this theme...What can you do to transform the many unjust systems? Below are links to local events. And if you are looking for a little motivation, The King Center is conducting a live session, going on now until 4:30pm today, at the following link.

As a National day of Service, please try to use Monday or this weekend as an opportunity to give back to your community. Dr. King's short 39 years of life were spent in service to and for others.  May his example be an igniter for us all.

We are SALUS...and we serve. Again, in the words of Dr. King, "Everyone can be great, because everyone can serve." Go be GREAT!

Happy Birthday Dr. King! Never to be forgotten...

In service,

Juliana (Dr. J)
