To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Osborne Audiology, we are revisiting stories of the Alumni Association's Alumni of the Year Award winners.
Jonette B. Owen, AuD ‘03, MHA, FNAP, CH-A, has served the Salus University community in various roles for more than a decade. Currently, she serves as the associate dean of Clinical Education at the University’s Osborne College of Audiology (OCA).
Dr. Owen is responsible for establishing, implementing, assessing, and improving best practices for student clinical education throughout both of the program’s three-year and four-year tracks, in addition to identifying and establishing off-campus clinical sites for students. She also holds the rank of associate professor, teaching courses in Audiometric Principles, Medical Co-Management of Auditory Diseases, and Clinical Problem Solving, and established the Standardized Patient program within the College.
Dr. Owen’s clinical experience is multifaceted. She has served as a clinical audiologist in a multidisciplinary medical group with hospital privileges and in private practice, where she specialized in advanced diagnostic testing and hearing aid dispensing.
She served as the chairwoman for the Pennsylvania State Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and in various offices on the board of the Pennsylvania Academy of Audiology, including the president. Dr. Owen is the recipient of the honor of Alpha Upsilon Delta-Audiology Honor Society and a distinguished fellow of the National Academies of Practice. Most recently she has completed her master’s in Health Administration and Policy (MHA).
