All Salus students are invited to visit the new Learning Resource Center on Monday, January 9, with the first 250 visitors during the lunch break receiving their first hot beverage courtesy of the University. We are excited for all students, faculty and staff to explore the renovated facility and hope to see you there.
“My first impression of the Learning Resource Center is that it is somehow bigger than the old library,” said Alexander W. Van Dyck ‘18OD ‘19MPH. “The open layout and improved lighting make the whole place feel more spacious.”
Keeping in line with the University’s mission and strategic plan, the modern renovations were intended to provide Salus students with an optimum learning experience in a progressive atmosphere as technology rapidly changes. New, expanded, and renovated facilities are a central priority of the University, as we strive to transform into a technology-rich academic hub for professional development, multidisciplinary study, and a collaborative community resource.
“We have configured a new, state of the art classroom, opened up wireless printing on both floors, and provided a number of collaborative and study space areas with the latest technology for students,” said William Brichta, CIO, Technology and Learning Resource Center Services. “The wireless signal strength has also been increased in anticipation of greater use. Staff have worked hard to provide an enhanced technology experience while continuing to deliver first-rate customer service.”
Along with the expanded technology services, 50-person classroom, updates and more open space, the Learning Resource Center houses a help desk/service center, large wood tables, small group study areas, and a small coffee bar.

“The first floor offers lots of social workspace, while the second floor has individual privacy seating, space-saving cubicles, and the familiar cubbies that were so popular in the old library,” Alexander adds. “There are also multiple rooms for group study or project work. I expect that the Learning Resource Center will become a popular study location at Salus.”
