Did you hear? U.S. News & World Report recently released their list of 100 Best Jobs 2019, and within the top 100 are four programs in which Salus University offers master’s, doctorate, and post professional degrees in:
#3 Physician Assistant
As one of the fastest growing professions, the 25-month long Physician Assistant Studies program here at Salus focuses on evidence-based practice, anatomy, patient care, science, and pathophysiology during the first year while the second year is devoted to clinical rotations that provide students with patient care experiences in primary and specialty care.
“I chose Salus University because of the facilities (such as the cadaver lab), the many resources they provide as a University and as a program, and the location of the University provides access to many different experiences such as the workshop we did at the Philadelphia Museum of Art,” said Marcus Newsom ‘20PA.
#13 Occupational Therapy
The University’s Occupational Therapy program offers academic and clinical preparation for masters and doctoral degrees in addition to specialty track certificates. Salus provides students with inter-professional experiences, academic courses in science and the health and well-being of patients, and professional development opportunities.
“Everyone is so supportive,” said Courtney Callahan ‘19OT.“I love how the school is all graduate students because we all understand the work ethic that’s required.”
#23 Speech-Language Pathology
This two-year Master of Science degree program in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) provides students with biomedical courses, interprofessional education, clinical skills, and training to become fundamental healthcare and educational professionals.
“I chose Salus because of how many of the professors seem to care about the success of their students and the unique opportunities they offer in order for me to reach my goals,” said Caitlin Fleming ‘19SLP.
#49 Optometry
Originally founded as the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1919, Salus continues to push the envelope in the optometric profession. The Traditional Program is a four year curriculum with three years of courses and clinical experience, plus one year of externships. The Accelerated Scholars Program is the first optometry program in the country to offer students the opportunity to complete all of the same traditional program degree requirements in 36 months.
“I chose Salus because of the early clinical experiences and the welcoming, family atmosphere the school offers,” said Carrie Hillinski, Optometry program.
