What to Know About Summer, Fall Semesters

Salus University recently released plans for upcoming semesters, signaling a more traditional fall semester with in-person learning, labs and clinical facilities for all programs more than a year after the COVID-19 pandemic drove students to online learning.

For the summer semester, many didactic classes will continue online with some programs offering in-person or hybrid classes. All labs and clinics will be held on campus or in one of the University’s four local clinical facilities.

The University’s Office of Admissions is currently offering a series of webinars for new students, featuring information about financial aid, student engagement, local housing, and the opportunity to hear frequently asked questions answered by current graduate students. Additionally, several program directors will host virtual chats to help answer questions from new and returning students. Looking ahead to the fall semester, the University will continue to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), state and local guidelines, as well as monitor the conditions at the Elkins Park campus and the University’s clinical facilities. University officials are also strongly encouraging all members of the Salus community to get vaccinated, hoping faculty, staff and students will lead the way on vaccine uptake. “With everyone’s health and safety in mind as we prepare for the fall semester, we will proceed in a conscientious manner that does not place any members of our community at risk,” University president Dr. Michael H. Mittelman said. “We will adapt and keep you informed as things continue to evolve. As healthcare professionals, we have a responsibility to set the example by getting vaccinated. Thus, I strongly encourage all members of the University community to get the COVID-19 vaccine.”

Optimistic for a return to more normal operations in the fall semester, Dr. Mittelman is eager to greet the next generation of aspiring healthcare professionals.
