Join Salus University and its Health Facilities for several exciting and informative upcoming events. These events are a great way to come together with the community and stay informed about the services we offer.

September 13, 2019: Cheltenham Township Police Department Open House
6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
8230 Old York Rd, Elkins Park PA

Cheltenham Police, Fire and EMS will be holding an open house featuring Police K-9 demonstrations, fire apparatus, Police cars, ambulances, guided tours as well as snacks and drinks. Visit Salus University’s table for information on our clinical sites.

September 14, 2019: Citywide Health Fair
10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Heart of Worship Restoration Center, Parking Lot 5317 N. 3rd St., Philadelphia

Heart of Worship Restoration Center is on a mission to make an impression in the lives of those who are looking for prevention, treatment or information on public health challenges. Learn more about the role of the community and the local church in addressing the increasing need for resources, support and education that speak to the holistic healing and transformation of the family and the individual. September 15, 2019: Jenkintown Festival of the Arts
1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Jenkintown’s Old Town Square

Jenkintown is celebrating its 21st Annual Festival of the Arts, where you will find local artists, merchants, businesses, non-profits, performers, and culinary experts. The festival offers visitors the opportunity to peruse a variety of goods while reveling in a six-block festival atmosphere full of food, music and fun outdoors. 

September 21, 2019: Autism Awareness Event
11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Elmwood Park Zoo, 1661 Harding Blvd, Norristown PA 19401

Come out to the Elmwood Park Zoo for the Exceptional Families of Exceptional Children’s 7th Annual Autism Awareness event. Enjoy a day jam packed with family fun! Visit with vendors who will provide resources for guests with autism and take the Caring for your Animal Friends class. September 21, 2019: PCOM Wellness Fest
10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, 4170 City Ave, Philadelphia

The Eye Institute, the Pennsylvania Ear Institute and the Speech-Language Institute will be providing complimentary health screenings at PCOM’s Wellness Fest. The event will also feature children’s activities, fitness classes, cooking demonstrations, live entertainment, guest speakers, relaxation activities, food trucks, and more! Stop by Salus University’s table for information on our clinical sites as well as free hearing, eye and speech screenings.

September 27, 2019: State Rep. Pamela DeLissio’s Senior Expo
 9:00 a.m. – noon
Roxborough Memorial Hospital, 5800 Ridge Ave., Philadelphia

Join us for State Rep. Pamela Delissio’s Senior Expo. The event will also accommodate a diverse group of agencies and organizations that acknowledge the needs and interests of senior citizens. Representatives from The Eye Institute, the Pennsylvania Ear Institute and the Speech-Language Institute will be on hand to offer information about our vision, hearing and speech services.

September 29, 2019: Chestnut Hill Fall for the Arts Festival
11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Chesnut Hill, Germantown Avenue between Willow Grove and Rex Avenue

The 35th annual Fall for the Arts Festival returns to Chestnut Hill, transforming Germantown Avenue into a marketplace for all things handmade in both art and craft. 25,000 people stroll along the Avenue to admire juried artwork from more than 150 talented exhibitors and 20 new artists this year.  Stop by our table for information on our clinical sites.

October 5, 2019: Give Kids Sight Day – Free Eye Care for Kids
8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Jefferson Alumni Hall, 1020 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA

Jefferson is offering free eye care and eyeglasses for children 17 and under, from Philadelphia and surrounding counties, who have not had or have not passed an eye screening, or those who are uninsured. Please arrive early and allow for a few fun-filled hours. 

October 6, 2019: Hearing & Speech Expo
Noon – 4:00 p.m.
Newtown Rec. Center, Newtown Grant, 360 Eagle Road, Newtown, PA

Whether you sign, speak, or type, this event is for you. Come out and mingle with clinicians, colleges and universities who teach ASL and speech skills, Audiology students from Salus University, therapists, teachers of the deaf, religious groups committed to ASL, organizations where you may find employment opportunities, hearing aid providers, and more! Not to mention, pizza and refreshments will be provided. Stop by our table for information on the Pennsylvania Ear Institute, Speech-Language Institute as well as free hearing screenings.

October 12, 2019: Greater Philadelphia Asian Social Services Community Street Fair
11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
4943 N. 5th Street, Philadelphia, PA

The 20th Annual GPASS Community Health Fair serves all of Philadelphia. There will be free flu shots, health screenings and other informational presentations. The Health Fair is designed to benefit participants of all ages, from our community’s youth to our seniors. Visit Salus University’s table for information on our clinical sites.

October 19, 2019: Pennsylvania Ear Institute (PEI) Open House
10:00 am – noon
8380 Old York Road, Elkins Park, PA

Salus University’s Pennsylvania Ear Institute (PEI) is hosting an open house featuring facility tours, hearing screenings, demos of hearing aids and other technology, short talks on tinnitus, hearing aids and balance as well as door prizes. Register online.
