Jenna D’Entremont, Speech-Language Pathology

Jenna D’Entremont in gazeboWhy did you choose Salus?
Hi, my name is Jenna D’Entremont! I am a first-year student in the Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) program. I am also a member of the Salus Student Ambassadors. I was born in Abington, Pennsylvania and have lived in Hatboro, Pennsylvania my whole life. I got my bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a minor in special education. After realizing I wanted to go into the speech-language pathology profession, I completed the prerequisite courses I needed for grad school and began applying to schools.

It is definitely a stressful process researching grad schools, applying, and waiting for responses and I am so grateful to be where I am now. When looking into this profession, the first school I looked at was Salus University and Salus was always my number one choice. I went to Penn State Abington, about five minutes away, for my undergrad so I am very familiar with the area and was hoping to stay in this area for grad school. I also thought Salus’ campus was beautiful, especially the gazebo out front, I loved the course layout for the program and really felt like this program would best prepare me for my future career.

It was a quick decision after I received my acceptance letter from Salus. I think I accepted my offer the same day it was sent to me. I am just beginning my second semester and I have been nothing but happy with my decision to chose Salus. I have already learned so much about my profession through coursework last semester as well as early clinical experience in the on campus Speech-Language Institute (SLI). The professors here at Salus are so knowledgeable and experienced on the topics they teach and are truly here to help us succeed and learn the material. The cohort model we have in the SLP program means I have the same students in each of my courses which has been a great support system to lean on throughout the semester. I also have loved being a part of the Salus Ambassadors, getting the opportunity to help anyone who may be considering Salus and help with any questions they may have in their process of choosing the right grad school as I was in the same boat not too long ago.
