Lindsay Rock, Speech-Language Pathology

Lindsay and friend selfieWhy did you choose Salus?

Hello, my name is Lindsay Rock. I am a first-year student in the Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) program at Salus. I am from North Wales, Pennsylvania, and attended The Pennsylvania State University (PSU) for my undergraduate degree. During my time at PSU, I majored in Communication Sciences and Disorders, with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies.

While applying to graduate school, I wanted to attend somewhere closer to my hometown. I had heard excellent things about Salus University, and throughout the application process, it was in my top list of schools I wanted to attend.

After my acceptance into the school, it was a quick decision. Besides commuting to Salus, the main attraction that stood out about Salus as compared to every other school was its clinical experience. As a first-year student, you have two clinical blocks each semester, seeing two to four clients. By having this hands-on experience, we can apply the knowledge we learn from our classes directly to our therapy sessions.

In addition to the education, the faculty and my classmates have been nothing but supportive since we started. Everyone is doing their best to help you succeed and become a competent SLP. If you are an upcoming student and are unsure about your decision, I am open to answering any questions you may have about the program.
