Carly Hampton, Orthotics & Prosthetics

When looking into orthotics and prosthetics programs, Salus stood out to me above others that I had visited. I felt comfortable and welcomed on campus almost immediately by everyone on campus. I liked that Salus was similar to my undergraduate university in the sense that everyone on campus had an interest in and was studying to be in the healthcare field. The interprofessional skills that we can obtain just from sharing space on campus is very unique and I liked the idea of being able to make these relationships while still in school. Focusing specifically on the Orthotics and Prosthetics Program at Salus, the integrated residency caught my attention right away. This is not something that many of the O&P programs have but I saw how it could be beneficial to me to have assistance and guidance throughout my residency. When accepting my spot at Salus, I knew that the O&P program was brand new, and at the time was not yet accredited, but after meeting with the faculty I knew it was where I needed to be.
