Why did you choose Salus?

Kayla in her white coatHi everyone! My name is Kayla and I am part of the Salus Physician Assistant (PA) class of 2026. One thing I found interesting when searching for PA programs to apply to was that Pennsylvania has the second highest number of PA programs in the country. Philadelphia alone has many programs. So what made me choose Salus?

Firstly, I am from Easton, Pennsylvania, which is a little over an hour away from Elkins Park. I received my undergraduate education form Moravian University in Bethlehem. Moravian is a small campus and has a close-knit community. One thing I loved about going to a small university was the relationship you are able to build with your professors and classmates. When interviewing with Salus, I could sense the time and care the faculty puts into this program. The campus and class size is smaller which is something I was looking for. I spoke to a Salus graduate about their experience and knew this was the right program for me. One thing she emphasized was how much the faculty cares about each student. PA school is hard, but having a lot of people who deeply care about your success makes a world of the difference.

Location is another big reason for choosing this program. I love being close to Philadelphia, and feel as though there are so many opportunities in and around the city. There is a lot to do in Philly and the surrounding areas. I enjoy being relatively close to my family as well. Overall, I know I made the right choice to attend Salus. I am not only grateful to be receiving such a high quality education, but also to have the most supportive professors and peers!
