Interprofessional Education for Collaborative Practice (IPECP)

Interprofessional Education for Collaborative Practice (IPECP) at the University is based on the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC)’s Core Competencies for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice (IPEC Competencies), the Health Professions Accreditors Collaborative (HPAC)’s Guidance on Developing Quality Interprofessional Education for the Health Professions (IPE Guidance), and the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education’s NexusIPE^TM Learning Model.

Our work currently includes the development of policies and procedures to facilitate IPECP, expanding faculty development opportunities in IPECP; and designing, developing, and delivering practical, clinical, and experiential learning opportunities for pre- and post-licensure health professions learners.

IPECP at the University is under the care of the Academic Affairs Council for Interprofessional Practice and Education (IPE Council). Co-chaired by the Director of Interprofessional Practice and Education (IPE) and an annually rotating faculty co-chair, the IPE Council is deliberative and advisory and meets every other month during the academic year. The charge is to advise and recommend actions to Academic Affairs that support development of an intentional, systemic, and systematic approach to interprofessional practice and education at the University for the benefit of patients and clients.
