SLP Students Selected to Present Posters at ASHA

First Year Salus SLP Students Selected to Present Posters at ASHA Annual Convention

First Year Speech-Language Pathology Students Selected to Present Posters at ASHASalus University Speech Language Pathology (SLP) first year students, Jessica Cecco and Caitlin Raymond, were selected to present their posters at the 2016 ASHA Annual Convention from November 17-19 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The ASHA Convention is the leading annual event for speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and speech, language, and hearing scientists.

Poster selection is a competitive process, where leaders and experts in the field review proposals submitted to committees for consideration. Cecco and Raymond’s submissions were selected out of thousands of proposals, ultimately allowing them to join Salus SLP faculty in presenting their capstone presentations during poster sessions at the convention. Cecco is eager to present her poster at this year’s convention, noting, “To have my capstone project accepted by ASHA to present at the national conference this fall is one of the most significant accomplishments of my graduate career thus far. I could not have achieved this success without the support of my peers and faculty, especially my mentor, Dr. Carrie Knight.”

The Annual Convention brings together more than 14,000 attendees, and provides an opportunity to learn about the latest research and resources for professional development in the field. “I’m honored to have been chosen to present at the ASHA Annual Convention, and I’m grateful for the hours of support and guidance from my mentor, Dr. Carrie Knight,” said Raymond. Robert Serianni, MS, CCC-SLP, interim chair and director of the Department of Speech-Language Pathology, is pleased to see his students rewarded for their hard work and attentiveness. "Congratulations to Jessica and Caitlin on their incredible accomplishments! I truly appreciate the support SLP faculty and staff has provided both students in order to guide them to successful submissions," said Serianni. Congratulations on your accomplishments!
