Norvell Coots, MD, President and CEO of Holy Cross Health, To Deliver Salus University Fall Commencement Address
Norvell V. Coots, MD, the president and CEO of Holy Cross Health, will deliver Salus University’s 2016 commencement address on Thursday, October 6 at the Reform Keneseth Israel Synagogue in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. Dr. Coots will address the University's Fall Class of 2016, which includes graduates from the physician assistant, audiology bridge, and blindness and low vision programs.
Having served as commanding General and CEO of Regional Health Command Europe and Command Surgeon, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, retired Brigadier General Coots has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare management and medical administration.
Prior to joining Holy Cross Health Dr. Coots was in charge of several European medical centers, where he was responsible for developing partnerships with over 40 civilian hospitals in three separate countries. Dr. Coots has also served as Deputy Commanding General for the Army Medical Command, as Assistant Surgeon General for Force Projection at the Pentagon and as Surgeon General, United States Forces, Afghanistan.

Dr. Coots attended Howard University and earned his undergraduate degree from the University of the State of New York, Regent’s College (now Excelisor). He earned his Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center College of Medicine.
