Dr. Michael Pro to Discuss Contemporary Co-Management of Glaucoma at Salus University Dynamic Duos Workshop Program
On Sunday, March 19 from 8:00 to 9:40 a.m., Michael Pro, MD, will discuss Contemporary Co-management of Glaucoma: A Case-Based Approach as part of the Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) Dynamic Duos continuing education program at the Hafter Student Community Center. Along with his co-presenter Bhawan Minhas, OD, FAAO, assistant professor at PCO, Dr. Pro will review the examination, work-up, imaging, medical and surgical management of patients with primary and secondary types of glaucoma.
Dr. Pro practices at Ophthalmic Partners of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is an associate surgeon and glaucoma specialist at Wills Eye Hospital and an assistant professor at Thomas Jefferson Medical College. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, and the Pennsylvania Medical Society. He is a past President of the Greater Philadelphia Ophthalmic Society. Additionally, Dr. Pro has published studies in numerous peer-reviewed journals and is a peer reviewer for the Journal of Glaucoma and Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology.
Dr. Pro graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with dual degrees in German literature and political science. He completed a post-baccalaureate pre-med program at Penn State Brandywine and earned his medical degree from MCP Hahnemann University School of Medicine. Dr. Pro completed his medical internship at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J., and his Ophthalmology residency at New York Eye & Ear Infirmary, where he was chief resident. He remained at New York Eye & Ear Infirmary for a one-year glaucoma fellowship. Dr. Pro is board certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology.
