Dr. Katherine Verdolini Abbott to Discuss Adventures in Voice and Voice Therapy Spectrum

Dr. Katherine Verdolini AbbottFrom Friday, April 28 to Sunday, April 30, Katherine Verdolini Abbott, PhD, CCC-SLP, will discuss Adventures in Voice and Voice Therapy Spectrum as part of the Salus University College of Education and Rehabilitation’s continuing education workshops for speech-language pathologists. Dr. Abbott will review basic science foundations, voice therapy spectrum methods for training, and adventures in voice—an approach to pediatric voice therapy that does not discourage children from using a loud voice.

Dr. Abbott is a professor of Communication Science & Disorders in the School of Health & Rehabilitation Services at the University of Pittsburgh, and a faculty member at the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine. She is a fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the Voice Foundation.

Dr. Abbott is a licensed speech-language pathologist and holds a certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology. She graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in German and Italian, and a master’s degree in speech and hearing sciences. She received her PhD in experimental psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo..
