Thirty-four years ago, on December 20, 1985, an 11-year-old third grader originally hailing from Poland had an extra special reason to celebrate the season. A team of doctors from the William Feinbloom Rehabilitation Center, housed at The Eye Institute, which included Dr. Richard Brilliant, professor emeritus in the University's Pennsylvania College of Optometry, gave him the ultimate gift just in time for the holidays - the gift of sight.
