Meet the Cast of The College Tour: Samantha Wereszczak

Prior to entering Salus University, Samantha Wereszczak ‘22PA was a respiratory therapist working on the frontlines of the Medical ICU. There, she experienced working collaboratively with other healthcare disciplines, which is what initiated her decision to start her path to become a Physician Assistant (PA)

During just her first year where the PA program focuses primarily on didactic education, she was able to collaborate with students and faculty across the University’s diverse programs including optometry, audiology, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, orientation and mobility and more.

A Salus hallmark is strong, on-campus, interdisciplinary training. Students are exposed to patients at all of the University’s clinical facilities — not just within their own program from the start.

This unique opportunity provided Wereszczak and all Salus students to gain clinical care perspectives from other professions, of which they will be referring their patients to one day, if necessary. This is a decided advantage other schools may not offer with the ultimate goal to have all students lead and learn as realistically as possible how to work with other healthcare professionals — of which Wereszczak is adept.

As a consistent advocate for the PA program and Salus as a whole, the South Brunswick, New Jersey, native has become an influencer in her own right. And, she is thankful for having been given this experience to showcase the love she has for IPE and her individual profession.

“I did want to say thank you to The College Tour for letting me be a part of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and thank you to Salus for letting me represent the University’s Physician Assistant program,” she said. “I hope I can inspire other students to want to look into Salus, and come to Salus, and be part of this community. And, I hope if they do, they have just as an amazing experience as I have had.”
