SLI Welcomes Kara Maharay as Director of Clinical Education

The Speech-Language Institute (SLI) of Salus University welcomes Kara Maharay, MS, CCC-SLP, BCS-S, as director of Clinical Education.

Kara MaharayheadshotMaharay earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Kutztown University and her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from La Salle University. She has written numerous journal articles, and has participated in a variety of presentations.

As director, Maharay will guide the clinical operations of the SLI and community outreach programs. She will also support all aspects of speech-language clinical education.

With more than 20 years of experience as a clinical speech-language pathologist and educational professional, she has expertise in medical speech pathology, pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders and adult dysphagia.

Most recently, she worked as a speech-language pathologist/clinical specialist at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. She previously served as an adjunct professor in the department of Communication Sciences at Temple University and is a Board-Certified Specialist in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders.

“I am excited to join a group of exceptional and motivated speech pathologists and educators. I look forward to contributing to an already solid and unique program and supporting the growth of our graduate students,” said Maharay.
