Faculty Accomplishments Recognized at University Development Day

Salus University welcomed new faculty members and presented tenure and promotions to other faculty members at a recognition ceremony on Aug. 24, 2023, as part of the end of summer University Development Day.

connie chronister headshot1Tenure was presented to Connie Chronister, OD ‘86, Resident ‘87, MS, FAAO, chief of Suite 1 at The Eye Institute (TEI); and Helene Kaiser, OD ‘89, associate professor at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) at Salus University.

Promotions included:

College of Health Sciences, Education and Rehabilitation (CHER)

Promotion to assistant professor:

  • Brandi DeVeaux, MS, OTR/L, CLT, Occupational Therapy (OT)
  • Kimberly Cafarella, MS, CCC-SLP, Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) department coordinator for the Post-bacc program
  • Kara Maharay, MS, CCC-SLP, BCS-S, director of Clinical Education in the SLP department.

 Promotion to associate professor:

  • Brianna Brim, PhD ‘22, MOT, OTR/L, CPAM, CLIPP, Occupational Therapy
  • Kelly Salmon, SLPD, CCC-SLP, BCS-S, CLT-LANA, NDC, Speech-Language Pathology
  • Jamie Maffit, MS ‘06, MC, COMS, CLVT, Orientation and Mobility program director

  • Promotion to associate professor: Giri Sundar, PhD, CCC-A, FAAA, director of Distance Education programs
  •  Promotion to professor: Martin Pienkowski, PhD
