At Salus University, we offer nationally recognized graduate level professional degree programs known for their academic excellence. As a pioneer in clinical education in Optometry and Audiology, we now extend this expertise to the education of Physician Assistants.
To address the evolution of today’s healthcare and its changing workplace demands, our Physician Assistant program provides an emphasis on a strong basic science and pathophysiology foundation, building an understanding - not just recognition - of disease processes and clinical medicine. We teach evidence-based medicine theory and our students work in small groups to develop the critical thinking abilities necessary to address complex medical and surgical patient problems.
The use of onsite, full dissection cadavers to teach anatomy along with radiologic correlates is further evidence of our commitment to a quality educational experience. Patient care is introduced in the first year of the program so students begin their clinical year with confidence in their medical knowledge, clinical skills and professional attitude. To better prepare our students for the specialty-oriented workplace, we offer two elective clinical year rotations.
Our Physician Assistant program believes strongly in keeping the “heart” in healthcare. All patients need to be listened to, understood and treated unconditionally with respect, empathy and kindness, as though they were members of our own family. As our students learn about their patients, opportunities are created during that process for our students to learn about themselves.
Choosing a Physician Assistant program is about matching the uniqueness of an individual program to your needs. Feel free to contact our Admissions Office to ask questions or arrange for a visit and tour of our facilities. We look forward to assisting you in the achievement your Physician Assistant career goals.
