Ally and I met when I was his admissions tour guide. I was in my first year in the Doctor of Optometry – Accelerated Scholars program and did work study for admissions. I encouraged him to return for his interview for the Scholars program since I was in the program myself and knew he’d be a good fit. He was accepted and we worked together a lot in clinic, since the younger scholars shadowed the older scholars. We started dating after a few months of friendship and helped each other study for boards, practice clinical skills, and we continue to challenge each other to be better optometrists and people. We made it through scleral depressing each other so we can make it through pretty much anything. We have been together almost two and a half years now, learning and growing together from each other’s experiences, and plan on opening a practice together in the future. We are PCO Scholar sweethearts. ❤️
